Papa's Raw Bar is a Casual, Island style, laid back but professional, friendly, very familiar and comfortable restaurant. We love our customers and love seeing familiar faces on a daily basis.

With over 40 years of experience in the seafood industry, we have built a great relationship with our community, employees, vendors and fisherman. We have our own fishing boats, specializing in stone crabs, conch and fresh fish so you can trust that your food is nothing but the freshest.

Providing our customers with a great quality experience is very important to us. We thrive on being the talk of the town and being an enjoyable place to go to. We stand by giving you quality drinks and food that is always delivered fresh overnight from our boats to your table.

Our story

Having spent many years in the Bahamas, Joy "Mama Joy" and Hugh "Papa Hughie" Ganter moved to Lighthouse Point, Florida with a clear vision of the restaurant they wanted; combine the freshest seafood with delicious, mouth-watering, island-inspired recipes and served in a casual, friendly atmosphere. The mission was to only buy, sell, cater, and serve the freshest, highest quality products. We source whole fresh fish, which is filleted in our market and served fresh from our boats to your table.

In the spring of 2014, The Ganter's son, Troy Ganter, and his beautiful wife, Cassie opened Papa's Raw Bar next door to Seafood World. Troy believed there was demand for a local hang out to Eat Drink And Be Local. He envisioned a hole in the wall that made you feel like you were on vacation. This vision became our trademark and lifestyle, Eat Drink and Be Local®.

After the pandemic, The Ganter's decided to transform the rustic dining rooms at Seafood World into a speakeasy private venue known as The Barrel Room. We added a liquor license, a patio bar, and outdoor seating. Now at Papa's Raw Bar you have Papa's Fresh Market, The Barrel Room and our restaurant offering all of Seafood World's classics with an array of Caribbean and Asian fusion fare. At Papa's there's sum of dis and sum of dat. Whether you're craving a whole fried snapper, world class sushi, fried rice, tacos, cracked conch or our infamous Caribbean Caesar salad, there's something for everyone.

In 2023, the EDBL Family expanded and teamed up with their executive Chef, Chad Lee, and marketing guru, Matthew Smith, to open an out-of-the-box concept, Won-Tom's. This Asian fusion kitchen is built on umami and Crasian fare. It's located in the nostalgic Cove shopping center, married to Cove Brewery. Together they are serving up kick-ass food, damn good beer, and good vibes only.
